Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further victory in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match offered a platform for several Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season proved no match even for a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.

Control Established from the Start

Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.

Midfielder Adam Wharton came close minutes later, driving a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah subsequently claimed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the referee dismissed the appeals.

Ex-Arsenal striker did not have wait long to find his goal, prodding home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.

Shelbourne were clinging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for two robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a header from a corner.

Pino Seals the Game

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
